Many Thanks Branch

Today’s card is very simple one layer card. I used Altenew’s Vintage Flower stamp set. Inking the stamp and coloring them with my Prisma color pencils. The sentiment is from the Wplus9 Hand-letter Thank You stamp set. I inked the thanks in a gray ink using my MISTI. Next I used a second layer of gray ink for the bottom half of the word and black ink for the very bottom of the word. I love the ombre look! ☺

TY Garden Grow

Okay so by now you are noticing a pattern of Thank You cards. I made 15 cards for a friend to give to her doctors and nurses. I really like making cards that are one of a kind. That way if they go to people in the same office they can share the different cards they received.

This is another almost one layer card using Altenew’s Garden Grow stamp set and Wplus9 Hand-lettered Thank You stamp.I used Copics and Polychromos color pencils to color in the images. The decorative border around the panel is from a stitched border die cut. ☺

TY Floral Square

Trying some new things can be stressful sometimes but I like to try new/old techniques. I feel here I should have cut the color image a little smaller but think the partial colored image versus the black and white is unique.

I started this card by stamping the Altenew Peony Bouquet outline stamp onto the base of the card. I then used the remaining stamps to ink the flower in several yellows by Altenew. I cut the colored image out with a square die cut and adhered them onto the base of the card, matching up the images. I wasn’t thinking things thru clearly when I did the leaves but I think it looks ok. I used a gold embossing powder for the Wplu9 Hand Lettered Thank you stamp.

This is almost a one layer card. I began with a 4¼ x 5½ sheet of watercolor paper. I started this card with a brick embossing folder. I added some Versa Mark ink to the embossing folder. After running it thru the machine.  I added some silver glittered Embossing Powder. I went ahead and white embossed the potted plants on the “ground”. I used my Zig Clean color Brush markers and a little water to color the images and brick wall. I used my thank you die cut by Wplus9. ☺

Oh Baby

I made this card a while back when I made the baby shower invitations for a friend. I have not given this card to anyone but wanted to share it with you.

I started this card off by stamping the clothesline in black ink and coloring it with my Copic Markers. I die cut some vellum clouds for the sky and added the word Congrats in purple which I popped up on some craft foam. I added the panel to come purple paper and then to a card base. This card could be done in any color for any gender. ☺

Thank You 2

This card was made during #the30daycolorchallenge. There is another color challenge starting in November. You can find all the details at The goal here is to find a few minutes a day to color. Anyone can participate and you can use any color medium you have (I even used my nephews color pencils). If you want to share your masterpiece with the group or just get inspiration from other participants you can find them on Facebook, Instagram, Flicker or Kathy’s Blog. Hope you will join us, it’s a lot of fun.

I stamped out the Altenew Peony Bouquet and used my Prisma color pencils to color in the flower and leaves. Again the sentiment is from WPlus9. ☺

Thank You

Altenew Peony Bouquet and Zig Clean color Markers on water paper.

I stamped the flower images and heat embossed them. Heat embossing your water-color image helps keep the colored water contained in each petal. I used my Zig Clean color Markers and some water to color in the flowers and leaves. I tried putting a gray color on the outside of the flowers to help them pop, I need to practice that a little bit more. I added the Thank You sentiment from Wplus9☺

Crazy Painter Bird

I love this card soooo much! I made this card with just an idea not a person in mind. So it is still in my possession but I wanted to share it with you.

I started this card off by stamping Tim Holtz Crazy Bird on a 4¼ x 5½  sheet of paper and coloring him with some Copic markers. I used a mask to cover up my bird so I could create the background. I used a Copic Multi Liner pen to create a line where I thought the floor and wall should meet. Next I used Copic Marker to create the floor but it need some texture so I added a wood grain stamped image in a darker brown. To create the faux wallpaper I used washi tape, a sponge dauber and Antique Linen ink. After removing the washi tape I decided the wall needed some art work. I wanted to create whatever my bird was going to be painting but I felt the direction he was looking and where he was stamped on the card wasn’t going to work. I used a woodgrain paper and die cut to create the frame and found the sentiment among my stamps (first time I have used it). I stamped, colored and die cut the wing and paint brush, then used several colors of gel pens to color the paint brush. To create the drips I used MFT Distressed Pattern and stamped that in white ink. After it dried I added the colored gel pens on top.

I am not sure why I the card front is smaller than the actual card base, could have been a smudge or maybe I just wanted to use that black and white washi tape. I also added it on the inside of the card. ☺

Purple For You

This card was originally made with a friend in mind who loves purple. However she did not receive this card. I do not keep a lot of cards on hand and tend to make my cards with someone in mind and then send it to that person. Every once in a while I get cards made ahead of time and run in to a situation where I need a card with little or no time to make one. I was glad I had not put a birthday sentiment on the card because I needed a Thank You card. Don’t worry she still received a birthday card that did have some purple flowers on it. ☺

This stamp set is again Altenew Peony Bouquet(middle flower) and Vintage Flowers (right and left flower).  I chose 3 purple ink pads and 3 green ink pads. I stamped the flower in the middle with the lightest color first, then the medium color and last the darkest purple. I masked off that flower and did the same  with the other two flowers. With the flowers masked off I then stamped the leaves using the same technique as the flowers, starting with the lightest ink and finishing with the darkest. I did take a smaller leaf and stamped between the leaves with just the lightest color to give it some visual interest.☺

Blue Note

This card started with me being on Pinterest. I saw a card that had a diagonal strip of flowers and I wanted to try it with a vertical look.

I started this card off with Altenew Peony Bouquet. I masked off the card base leaving a 1″ section and stamped the Peony flower and the berries in this stamp set. I then took a blue sheet of paper (this one is from SU), 3¼ x 5½ and cut the piece of paper at 1″. I added foam tape to both sheets of paper and popped the blue sheet of paper up off the card base. I felt the card was not finished. So I stamped some extra flowers and leaves and fussy cut them out and added them to the top of the opening  on the blue paper. I did have to add foam tape to the back of those images. Last but not least I stamped the image in Versa Mark ink and added white embossing powder and heat set it. ☺
