Art Impressions Girl Friends is a great stamp set but the sentiments make it even better. There are three different sentiments to choose from  “I laughed so hard, I had tears running down my legs”,  “It’s exhausting being this hilarious I don’t know how we do it!”, “Forget two peas in a pod we’re more like two nuts in a tree!”.

I stamped this image on some white cardstock and colored it with my color pencils. I used a rectangular die cut to cut out the image. Next I used two different patterns from a Cricut Celebration paper pad. I adhered this all to a black card front. Then I added a wooden embellishment (lol) to the card.☺

Happy Anniversary

My husband and I have been married for 20+ years. He is not home for our anniversary this year and I wanted to send him something to let him know I was thinking of him. I think we have only spent maybe three Anniversaries together.

I started this card by stamping the Penny Black Summer Love stamp. I used my PolyChromos and Prisma Color Pencils to color the image. I cut out the image and added foam tape on the back. I then taped off the card base with some low-tack tape and then created the background using yellow, orange, red and a sponge dauber. I printed off the sentiment on the computer with toner ink. Next I used two different colors of foil on the sentiment and ran that thru the laminator. I added the colored image to the background and used some gray pencil to ground the image under the shoes.

The background paper was a Valentine pack from Michaels ☺

Thinking Of You

This is a Tim Holtz Crazy Bird and Altenew Peony Bouquet stamps. I stamped the bird and noticed his/her eyes were looking up so I decided to make look like it was staring at the flowers. I had stamped this on watercolor paper so I decided to color this with my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors.  I thought the sentiment went well with this card.

A Jar Full Of Ladybugs

This card was a great idea but I think I put too many shaker bits in or to many bugs. I’m not sure but I still think it turned out cute.

I started by stamping the ladybug, coloring and using my Brother Scan and Cut to cut out the ladybugs (there is not a die cut for these bugs and fussy cutting takes too long). I took a piece of paper the same size as my card base and stamped some clouds and the sentiment. I also stamped the jar and used my Scan and Cut to cut it out as well. I placed a piece of acetate in the opening of the jar. Then I added some foam on the back  so I could put some shaker bits and the lady bugs inside the jar. I added some Wink of Stella to the clouds and added a gray lid to the jar. On the ground under the jar I added some polka dotted grass die and  wooden washi tape.☻

Art Impressions has this great stamp called Girlfriends, it comes with three different sentiments. The first one says “I laughed so hard I had tears running down my legs”, “It’s exhausting being this hilarious I don’t know how we do it”, and “Forget two peas in a pod we’re more like two nuts in a tree”.

I stamped these friends in Memento black ink so that I could use Copics to color them. I paper pierced their pants with some scraps of paper I had. It took me a little while to figure out what to do with these girls but I thought this paper with all the inspirations words would be a great background. Using a Spellbinder scallop die  to cut the outside and an oval die to cut  the inside I created a focal point for these friends. However the inside oval was not big enough and would have cut off the one fiends bun. To fix this I  only cut around part of her bun and adhered it on top of the oval die cut.

Stretching Before The Game

It’s the girls again. This time I used Distress Inks and a little water to color these girls. I also used some washi tape, sponge dauber and some Distress Inks to create the striped background as well. It is hard to tell from the picture but that black strip is glitter washi tape. I thought the girls could use a bit more sparkle than just their shirts ☺

Girl Time

These ladies have all the right moves, haha. I stamped these girls on Tim Holtz watercolor paper and colored them using Distress inks and a damp brush. I used a brick embosing folder and Inktense pencils to give the bricks a soft look. The sentiment is from WPlus9 Hand Letter Hello ☺

So I stamped this bowler and tried to create a bowling lane, it turned out okay. I colored the bowler using my Kuretake Gansai Tambi  watercolors. Unfortunately, I did not take a picture of my final project. All I did was cut the image down smaller and gave the white areas a blueish wash so it wasn’t so stark.

Have A Ball

I like how this card turned out. I stamped the gentleman bowler on some Copic friendly paper and colored him with Copics. His bowling ball was not easy to color. I tried giving it a marbled look, gonna have to work on that a bit more. I also stamped the bowling pins and colored them in Copics as well.  I used a strip of black paper to separate the two images and placed those two images on a black note card. The sentiment does come in the stamp set. To finish off the card I added some splatters to the background and some glossy accents to the bowling ball. ☺

Pinheads vs Babes

This card was the first card I made using this stamp set. This card was kind of an accident. I had stamped the gentleman bowler and the ladies on the same watercolor paper  with the intention of cutting them out and using them individually on cards. But after I colored the images with my Zig Clean Color Pens I decided to put the team names above there heads as if they were two teams in a bowling tournament. This did make the card an odd size, not quite a 5×7. I had to make a special envelope for it.☻
